What are YouTube Collaborations?

Collaborations are a new feature to YouTube, allowing creators to add up to four featured channels on a video or Short, showcasing and adding excitement to the way you work with other artists.

Collaborations are visible for all YouTube users across, desktop, mobile, the web and YouTube app. Once collaborators are added, their channel name, avatar and a subscribe button will appear.

Collaborations are a powerful way to grow your audience and boost discoverability. Collaboration videos can be recommended to the audiences of all collaborating creators and will show up in each of their subscriber feeds.

How do I add Collaborators to a Video?

  1. Head to YouTube Studio on desktop or mobile
  2. In the Details section of your upload, press Show more and then select Invite a collaborator
  3. Search for the channel you wish to add, create your invitation link and share it to your collaborator
  4. Once your video is uploaded and your collaborators accept their invitation, the channels will appear as collaborators

What else should I know about YouTube Collaborations?

  • Collaborations can also be added to your channel homepage via YouTube Studio, displaying videos which you appear as a collaborator in
  • Collaborations are available for videos uploaded as premieres, however they will not appear until the premiere has concluded and the video is public
  • Livestreams are unable to feature collaborators
  • Collaborations are unavailable on music videos provided by VEVO
  • Views, revenue and watch time are not shared amongst collaborators and are only attributed to the video owner
